The Copper Canoe on Water Street

Opened in April 2005, The Copper Canoe is a permanent home to Matthew Smith's limited edition prints. Colorful etchings adorn the historic 19th-century brick wall. Steel and stone sculptures are found hugging the corners of the large, open, light filled space. You may see dozens of prints clothes pinned to lines strung from the ceiling, their paper and ink barely dry. And, if you come by on the right day -- usually Saturday -- you may even see Matthew, busy making conversation with those who happen by. Whether or not you go home with a print, you won't soon forget your conversation with the former fisherman on Water Street, the captain of Quincy Pond Print Works and its flagship, the Copper Canoe.

We will work with you to find the right works for your space and can show you gift options. At the Copper Canoe we offer custom matting and framing services. And we can ship anywhere!
