Handmade Copper Block & Intaglio Etchings By: Matthew Smith

See The Work / Framing Process

Each hand-made etching is framed and fitted to museum quality standards. The framing process begins after the print has fully dried. Once the work has been pulled, signed, and cataloged in our inventory, it is sent to the frame shop.

After cutting the mats, foam core backing, and glass panels for the size needed, the print is attached with archival linen tape to the 100% cotton acid-free museum board matting and is backed with acid-free foam core to preserve and protect the fine quality paper and ink. The piece is then fitted into one of our hand-made cherry or walnut frames and sent off to The Copper Canoe gallery or one of our many consignment galleries.
